I had the privilege of having Darren and Miranda cover my divorce. And I can’t recommend them enough. If you need a lawyer who has your best interest and clearly sets expectations, Darren is your man! He delivered 100%. Fortunately my divorce wasn’t typical and was pretty amicable for the most part. Which led us to get a mutual attorney to help us formulate the paperwork and mediate through our disagreements. I understand that the divorce process takes a long time, but the amount of inaction and lack of communication with this previous lawyer; I felt we were getting no where. It affected how my ex and I communicated which led to distrust and miscommunication on our interests. Frustrated and driven to depression. I reach out to Port Gardner Law and was met with a wonderfully well spoken and competent woman named Samantha. For every business, the front desk is the marketing and advertisement of the culture. Samantha’s professionalism and grace sold me on this firm. I didn’t care who would represent me I just wanted to work with someone who has chosen Samantha to be the forward facing representative. She was amazing and comforting to help me through this difficult time. Samantha was an extension of Darren’s kindness and punctuation. I didn’t want anymore vague statements to the direction of my divorce. I needed an expectation set to ease my mind. He was the only lawyer to understand my desires, which were to peacefully split our assets while keeping my “fair” share. I didn’t want to leave the father of my children bitter and struggling. Nor did I want to be left with nothing. He brought me back to reason on some issues/ ideas I had. And gave me estimated dates for the divorce process. I gotta say I am impressed that he met each projection! Having seen a couple of friend’s divorces, that took forever, I was pessimistic that ours would finish before the end of the year. In hindsight I see how important a paralegal is to the progression on a case. And I think where the experience with the previous lawyer went wrong was their incompetent receptionist and paralegal. I am so grateful for Miranda, she was very clear and would check in to remind me on items still pending. Over all I think this is what kept everything on track to Darren’s estimation. And I appreciate that so much. I separated 2022. Spent 2 years and $$ with a lawyer that did nothing, didn’t file or anything. Then Darren accepted me as a client April 2024. And on Dec 2024 divorced was finalized. Hire Darren at Portland Gardner Law. You’ll be happy you did!

HIRE JULIE CAPUTO with Port Gardner Law Group!! October 2024 - I was fortunate enough to be referred to Julie by another attorney a year ago. She was the 3rd attorney I had met with and she was able to see me on very short notice within 48 hours. Immediately, she put me at ease. After our initial visit, I already felt a huge weight had lifted. I was very glad that I had not already retained an attorney at that point. Right away, I felt Julie was "the right one". She was sincere, compassionate, caring, and I could tell she was smart. She immediately took control and told me what I needed to do in order to assist with the case. I hired her right then and left the meeting feeling as if I was in capable hands - and rightly so. On very short notice, Julie and her team were able to frame and present my case which secured a positive outcome at the temporary orders hearing-- for me to be awarded primary custodian of my children and to be able to temporarily remain in the family home. For the past year, Julie has worked diligently through numerous obstacles and challenges from the opposing party while maintaining a high level of courtesy and professionalism to all parties throughout the process. I am very pleased with the outcome and so glad that I chose to trust Julie during this process. Some attorneys are "sharks", or overly aggressive. I would say that Julie is assertive, fair, smart, careful, and very knowledgeable about the law. Also, I believe her courtroom presence visibly reflects her honesty and sincerity - thereby garnering respect and credibility. A big "THANK YOU" to Julie and Nick. I highly recommend Julie.

UPDATE: 5/23/2025 Matthew Jankovic has taken over our case and has been an exceptional attorney on behalf of my boyfriend. He will surely have an excellent career as a lawyer. We lucked out big time! Love seeing him in action. My boyfriend is going through a divorce. But not just your average, stressful divorce. He's been hit with false allegations, CPS reports and legitimately everything in between you can think of. We are still going through the process, but I can definitely say that Port Gardner Law Group's Brian Parker, is an extremely knowledgeable, savvy, hard-working and dependable attorney. I am so appreciative of he and his teams hard work and relentless commitment in representing us. If you are looking to find a lawyer that knows the law, will fight for you, and is dependable, Brian Parker is your guy. If I could give 10 stars, I would. He has exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you Brian, Mindy, Samantha and Port Gardner for being nothing shy of the absolute best in what you do!!

Cynthia First, Julie Caputo and Matthew Jankovic are all excellent Family Law attorneys, and their paralegals are amazing too. This team has seen it all and are licensed in multiple states and have dealt with international situations. Their staff is efficient, kind and personable. They think strategically, are utmost professionals and are very ethical, even when opposing counsel is not, and we appreciate their candor yet sensitive approach. We'll be going on year 7 with them due to ongoing parenting plan and custody issues and each team has been on point.

I’m a criminal defense lawyer with 45 years of experience, so when it came to my own difficult, complicated divorce, I knew I needed the best lawyer possible. My first lawyer was, at best, mediocre. Then, during a court zoom hearing a couple of months into my divorce, I watched and listened to Cynthia First representing another petitioner. It took me five minutes to make the decision to see if she would represent me. I know lawyers and the quality of what they do, having worked with or opposite as many as 400 of them. There are three at the top of the list, lawyers who are brilliant, caring, dedicated. Ms First is one of those three. She’s super smart and knowledgeable not only about the law but also about people and situations. Her skills in representation go beyond that: She cares about her clients. My emails were answered immediately, even during off hours. Superlative representation. Class act. Terrific person, terrific lawyer. (I also want to thank Peggy, the paralegal, whose organization and hard work made things so much better and easier for me.)
