The reviews that have been negative are, in my experience, very accurate.
If you consider hiring her, look up her record with Snohomish County courthouse; she'll make a lot of excuses for herself about this and never actually address her responsibilities.
If you were lucky and she was a good attorney for you, it's because you had a case that did not in some way trigger her and that did not in any way challenge her. When you first go in she assures you that she can do the job for you, if you dare to ask questions she will do 1 of 2 things: continue to mask with how well she can handle your case, or blow up and, literally, start screaming at you.
Both of the women in her office know she does this, both talked with me about it, and how problematic it is working for her.
I feel for them.
If I could, I would give her zero stars.
Literally every thing she would say "if you had this___ , I could definitely get everything in your contract", then I would show her that I had that, she would be happy, and by the next time we spoke wouldn't remember what was said, or would say "if only this_____".
Whenever she was flustered, she would start screaming, literally.
She told me other clients told her she was a narcissist, she seemed ok with that, I would agree with them; being uncertain or asked questions triggers screaming fit.
Her response to her assurances that she could get the job done was "there's no guarantee"; no, there isn't, but she uses that as a defense against doing a bad job.
She'll be happy to take your money, make excuses for herself, not listen to you, and then threaten to (or actually) fire you as a client (even as you're about to go to court, when you're then stuck).
She bad mouths thr opposing counsel without taking them seriously.
Why not more negative reviews?
Because she is litigious about people standing up against her.
She was a nightmare.
Slow in responding to client and opposing counsel.
Not taking responsibility for what she says to client, judge, or opposing counsel.
All the opposing side has to do is irritate, or buddy up to, her to throw her off balance in her representation of you.
If you have a really, really simple case, and the other side is somewhat incompetent, she may work for you; if not, imo, do not hire her.
A previous review of Kathryn described her as a godsend, this is an accurate description and the best way I can personally describe her. She gave me my heart back.
After spending years bending to the will of my son's mother in hopes of being able to effectively co parent with her it wasn't enough, out of nowhere she decided to file paperwork essentially cutting me out of his life entirely. I was heartbroken beyond words and didn't know what to do.
After much research I found Kathyrn Abele. She cut through all the BS and nonsense and got right down to business. She immediately knew what needed to be done and how to do it. She is an incredible lawyer and because of her I now have full joint custody. Any father who has been through this nightmare will tell you how big of a deal that is.
I pray you don't have to go through this process but if you do just know that if you hire Kathryn you are in the best hands possible. I am so incredibly thankful for her.
I would give her 10 Stars if I could! I have never had anyone fight for me so hard my entire life. She was so Amazing in court, and I was so proud to stand next to her. Natasha her Assistant was Amazing as well and they kept me informed on everything the entire case! My case was an extremely tough one and the court ruled in our favor after a masterpiece argument by Kathryn. I am forever grateful,

I work as a paralegal at another family law firm and recently hired Kathryn for a long uphill battle modifying a parenting plan. Kathryn is a tough advocate for her clients and I hired her because her memory and interpretation of the law are second to none. Kathryn got me everything I asked for at my hearing. I went from getting slaughtered in court by my ex husband to turning the tables completely in one hearing. Kathryn is well worth every penny and she is affordable.
