Mr. Hatch and his legal assistant are exceptionally professional, consistent, and no‑nonsense while still being polite, patient, and timely. They handled my ex‑husband with ease, which was no small task.
The legal assistant’s attention to detail and deep knowledge of so many community resources made a huge difference. His willingness to reach out, gather information, and anticipate what I might need added tremendous value to my case. Combined with Mr. Hatch’s strong representation and clear interpretation of the law, I always felt supported and well‑informed.
Honestly, I hope I never need their services again—but if I had to go through this process all over, I would choose this law firm without hesitation.
In short, I had a wonderful experience with this law firm. Professional, kind, respectful and on top of things. They’ll go out of their way to help you through your case no matter how big or small.
If you want details;
I ended up being ghosted by another law firm (I was advised not to mention names as much as I wanted to). And by ghosted, I mean, I wasn’t given updates for my case for half a year at a time even though I reached out through emails, calls and visits. In the end they ended up charging me for those follow ups.
I had Michael Beaty take my car accident case even though it was such a mess. He was very thorough and followed up with regular emails so I knew where my case stood every step of the way. He dealt with the previous attorney, absorbing all her costs and fees that she threw my way. Mr. Beaty was very professional, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I was satisfied with the settlement and appreciate everyone that helped out in this matter.
Their receptionist is the sweetest, and they always have snacks as a bonus.
Thanks so much!
For anyone who might not be local, Vancouver and Portland are two neighboring cities divided by a state line(the Columbia river). On the Oregon side of the line/river, you're in Portland, on the Washington side, you're in Vancouver. Its basically one big urban sprawl. I live in Portland and my fiancé lives in Vancouver. I've been working with my lawyer to write a prenuptial, something boiler plate to protect our existing assets. Oregon law requires that both sides have an attorney review any prenuptial.
On their website they stated they have both Oregon and Washington law licenses. So I called them up, from an Oregon number, explained that I'm getting married. My fiancé lives in Vancouver and needs a lawyer to review it and sign it on her behalf. I want them to represent her interests, but bill me for it. She shouldn't have to pay because I am insisting on an extra layer of legal paperwork.
So I scheduled an appointment for my fiancé, paid for the time, and they worked with my lawyer to get the forms sent over(I am also getting charged from MY lawyer's side too during this process). We wait for the day of consultation to come and my fiancé meets with them.
Shortly after she's done I get a call and she tells me 'they don't have a law license'. I was confused. Surely as a "lawyer" they would need a license to be able to practice law. I called their office to try to understand what was going on.
Apparently, they only have a license to practice law on the Washington side of the river, despite what their website claims. They never thought to mention that when I called from an Oregon number about paperwork written by my Oregon Lawyer. They never mentioned it and it never raised flags when they were working with my Oregon lawyer, or looked at the paperwork specific to Oregon. They felt free to charge us and never mentioned that they can't review or sign anything.
I called them and they confirmed all this. They didn't have the necessary licenses, their website is incorrect, and they hadn't felt the need to mention this. I was flabergasted. But somehow I was not surprised then they explained that they couldn't refund me my fee.
Stay away.
I couldn’t be happier with my experience. The entire process was incredibly smooth and easy. From the moment I walked in, Juliana at the front desk went above and beyond—she was so kind, patient, and helpful, and truly made everything feel simple and stress-free. Amazing service and an even better team. Highly recommend this firm!
I had a wonderful experience working with Michael and his team! From start to finish, the team was professional and responsive. They took the time to explain every step of the process and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout my case. Michael Beaty and his team were not only knowledgeable but also kind and compassionate, making a stressful situation much easier to navigate.
I truly felt that they had my best interests at heart, and their dedication and hard work resulted in a successful outcome. I highly recommend this group to anyone seeking reliable and supportive legal representation. Thank you so much for everything!
